Balkhi farms is a modern organic farm located Canada. FarmWe use scientific methods and environmentally friendly practices to grow a variety of crops and animals. We avoid pesticides, fertilizers and chemicals that may harm the plants, animals or soil. We make our own electricity from biogas. Our cows. All our animals are lovingly cared for. Most of them came to us from Australia. They receive the best shelter, food, exercise and medical care. We do not inject them with any hazardous chemicals. The entire farm uses cow manure as a natural fertilizer. Happy cows give the best milk. The Feed. We grow our own food for the cows. This includes barseem clovers, oats and corn. Our cows graze of beautiful paddocks of Bermuda grass. They drink the same water that we drink.

Cattle were domesticated as long ago as the Neolithic age and have been kept as livestock ever since for their meat, milk and hides.Historically there Cowwas less distinction between dairy cattle and beef cattle, with the same breeds used for both milk and meat. However, in the developed world today farmers generally keep either beef or dairy cattle. Through generations of selection, dairy breeds, such as the Holstein, are bred specifically to produce very high volumes of milk.
The calves of dairy and beef cows are likely to have very different lives. Beef calves are generally slaughtered for beef after one to two years. Female dairy calves are usually reared on for milk production.
